Developing a men’s ministry in the church are probably the most challenging missions, but perhaps we start to use a better vision.
Every ministry with the church needs a robust vision, and men’s ministry 's no different. But do we understand the most effective version and expression of that? In this Resolute Podcast, Vince Miller is joined by way of the pastor and author Roger Thompson from Man Inside the Mirror Ministries. Yeah, say more about that. ‘Cause I love the way in which that you say this. Because sometimes guys will happen to you, and they've already a concept of what they see men’s ministry as. And it’s an opportunity, it’s a system, it’s an operation. But then they miss one other side of it. Which is how do we really mobilize men? How do we cause them to embrace the lifestyle this Jesus lived, that is outlined in God’s word, though not see it as exclusively the system or a operation. Or on the additional end, only as a Bible study, right?

But I also just want to say that discipleship isn't up to the men’s ministry you need to do. There – it happens in many, many other places. So put simply – let me say it in such a manner. The healthier the chapel, the less footprint the men’s ministry are going to have – or really need.

Yeah so, what I hear most people saying is that we need to have a larger enjoy of what men’s ministry may just be. Or a larger idea – not be which means exclusive or myopic around saying, “It’s only a Bible study. And if numbers come to my Bible study, subsequently I’m successful. ” Or – if there is 100 men that come to a men’s retreat, subsequently we’re successful. It’s more precisely how are we mobilizing men in the church? We’re giving them opportunities growing in their faith, using their gifts and visiting service and projects and engagement together with the whole church – not just with us. That is actually a healthier view, it actually sounds like?
Absolutely. Yes. We possess a man in our chapel named John, who launched onto – I don’t realize? 15 years ago because of teaching. Very vigorous fellow. And his ministry was to our church camp. Where there is hundreds and hundreds associated with first-time decisions for Christ constructed every summer. And thousands of re-dedication. And John started using trips to Trout Lake you need to do building up there. And he’s probably got 30 men in this church who go using him. It’s very calm, it’s under the radar. Each goes up there, and that they do tremendous work. They’ve given literally quantities of free labor. Skilled labor to this camp. Where children come and tend to be saved and discipled. After all – yeah, he’s a Bible student, but that they don’t go and study the Bible.
