Sustaining a men’s ministry in the church is about the most challenging missions, but perhaps we'd like a better vision.
Every ministry within the church needs a strong vision, and men’s ministry isn't an different. But do we understand the top version and expression of this? In this Resolute Podcast, Vince Miller is joined from the pastor and author Roger Thompson from Man With the Mirror Ministries. Today they discuss the topic of developing a vision with the men of your chapel.

Well I think I should start first by defining genital herpes virus treatments mean by discipleship. And what i mean by that is just somebody who’s following Jesus towards ever-growing stations of faith. And what It looks like we tend to think – at the time you pose the question, “Why should discipleship be the middle of men’s ministry? ” It looks like the default – practically in men’s minds is, “How should i get men into some sort of systematic Bible study? ” In addition to again, nothing wrong bring back.

Yeah, say more with that. ‘Cause I love the best way that you say that. Because sometimes guys will happen to you, and they've already a concept of what they see men’s ministry as. And it’s a business, it’s a system, it’s an activity. But then they miss one other side of it. Which happens to be how do we really mobilize men? How do we cause them to become embrace the lifestyle that Jesus lived, that is outlined in God’s word, but not see it as exclusively sometimes a system or a approach. Or on the additional end, only as some sort of Bible study, right?

But I also plan to say that discipleship isn't up to the men’s ministry you need to do. There – it happens in a great many, many other places. So quite simply – let me say it with this. The healthier the chapel, the less footprint the men’s ministry will have – or require.

Yeah so, what I hear people saying is that we need to have a larger perspective of what men’s ministry may be. Or a larger idea – not be which means exclusive or myopic approximately saying, “It’s only some sort of Bible study. And if numbers arrived at my Bible study, in that case I’m successful. ” Or – if there is 100 men that arrived at a men’s retreat, in that case we’re successful. It’s more about how are we mobilizing men throughout the church? We’re giving them opportunities to nurture in their faith, by utilizing their gifts and looking at service and projects and engagement while using the whole church – not with us. That is indeed a healthier view, it will sound like?
Absolutely. Yes. We contain a man in our chapel named John, who retired – I don’t fully understand? 15 years ago from teaching. Very vigorous person. And his ministry was to your church camp. Where you can find hundreds and hundreds from first-time decisions for Christ built every summer. And tens of thousands of re-dedication. And John started choosing trips to Trout Lake you need to do building up there. And he’s probably got 30 men in this particular church who go along with him. It’s very quiet, it’s under the radar. They're going up there, and they do tremendous work. They’ve given literally huge amount of money of free labor. Skilled labor to the present camp. Where children come as they are saved and discipled. I am talking about – yeah, he’s some sort of Bible student, but they don’t go and study the Bible.
