Having a men’s ministry in the church are probably the most challenging missions, but perhaps we'd like a better vision.
Every ministry of the church needs a formidable vision, and men’s ministry is not any different. But do we understand the best version and expression about this? Well I think I will start first by defining that which you mean by discipleship. And the reason by that is merely somebody who’s following Jesus into ever-growing stations of faith. And what I'm sure we tend to think – after you pose the question, “Why should discipleship be the middle of men’s ministry? ” I'm sure the default – practically in men’s minds is, “How do i get men into some systematic Bible study? ” Along with again, nothing wrong bring back.

Yeah, say more about this. ‘Cause I love the manner in which that you say that. Because sometimes guys occurs to you, and they have perhaps a concept of what they imagine men’s ministry as. And it’s a program, it’s a system, it’s an operation. But then they miss other side of it. That's how do we really mobilize men? How do we encourage them to embrace the lifestyle that Jesus lived, that is put forth in God’s word, but not see it as exclusively either a system or a approach. Or on the other end, only as some Bible study, right?

But I also just want to say that discipleship is not really up to the men’s ministry to do. There – it happens in lots of, many other places. So in other words – let me say it in such a manner. The healthier the house of worship, the less footprint the men’s ministry should have – or require.

Yeah so, what I hear anyone saying is that we need to have a larger view of what men’s ministry might. Or a larger idea – not be thus exclusive or myopic concerning saying, “It’s only some Bible study. And if numbers arrive at my Bible study, then I’m successful. ” Or – if we have 100 men that arrive at a men’s retreat, then we’re successful. It’s more about how precisely exactly are we mobilizing men over the church? We’re giving them opportunities to nurture in their faith, by utilizing their gifts and searching service and projects and engagement together with the whole church – not only on with us. That is indeed a healthier view, it appears like?
Absolutely. Yes. We possess a man in our house of worship named John, who out of production – I don’t fully understand? 15 years ago coming from teaching. Very vigorous man. And his ministry was to church camp. Where there are hundreds and hundreds from first-time decisions for Christ produced every summer. And 1000s of re-dedication. And John started taking trips to Trout Lake to do building up there. And he’s probably got 30 men inside our church who go along with him. It’s very restful, it’s under the radar. They go up there, and they do tremendous work. They’ve given literally huge amounts of money of free labor. Skilled labor to the camp. Where children come and they are saved and discipled. I am talking about – yeah, he’s some Bible student, but they don’t go and examine the Bible.
